I've covered this country horseback in search of a lot of things. I've looked for the neighbors yearling and sorted off some bulls. I've found hoof rotted cows and sick calves. I've found elk horns when money gets a little tight. I've looked for coyote dens in the spring and searched for wounded big game. I've looked for long lost treasure all around old sheep camps, and wondered how many drinks it took to get to the bottom off old whiskey bottles that are tucked under the sage. I've followed hound dogs looking for lions to tree. I've looked for windmills and gates, holes in the fences and cows. But the best things I've ever found was myself, forgiveness and love for my enemies, calmness and serenity. All those miles with my saddle underneath me really have eased my mind.
